Caption for my manipulation of stock 38 by DragonAngelStock - a little story that just happened to write itself thanks to a great expression in the source image.

Caption Transcript:
“What is that and why are you pointing it at me like that?” the frightened girl asked she backed up while I continued to slowly advance on her in as non-threatening a demeanor as I could muster. Her name was Leah Torwinski, and I had been sent by a friend to “photograph” her with a handheld device that looked not unlike a normal heat gun.

“Leah,” I said, “this would be a whole lot easier for both of us if you would just stand still and smile for the camera.”

“That's not a camera, and I still don't know how you know my name!” she cried. I continued to move closer to her, until she finally backed into a brick wall and could no longer move farther away. “Stop!” she cried, but I ignored her plea. I stopped about two feet away from her and continued to shower her with the radiation from the gun. She began to raise her hands up to shield her face, but the effects of the radiation were finally kicking in now that I had her in close range, and her movements became increasingly slow and jerky. “What's happening to me?” was the last thing she was able to utter, although of course it was much more drawn out than that as she was clearly having trouble speaking by this time. Her movement soon ceased entirely, and now with each pulse of the gun her skin became to take on an increasingly pale and artificial appearance. Within a minute, the gun began to shut itself down as its job was complete. Leah was now nothing more than just a mannequin; her stiff hands still raised and her facial features reduced to mere paint, now permanently displaying her look of fear but tempered with the serenity of a mannequin.

“I warned that you should have smiled, Leah,” I said as I inspected the mannequin. “Jeff specifically wanted you for a project of his, and well, I'm not sure this pose is going to cut it. Hopefully he likes it, otherwise, well, I'm not sure what's going to happen to you. He'd most likely try to sell you; but if you don't sell it's quite possible that you'll end up getting thrown out and recycled into something else,” I said with regret as I picked up Leah's light new body and set it down on the back seat of my car.
